One Smart Learning Center The One Smart Learning Centers was a prototype school that re-evaluated what children and parents needed in after-school learning centers. The brief called for traditional spaces, and followed strict schedules and operation requirements. The design is a template for future schools. The design began with a close analysis of existing schools and a systematic evaluation of the spatial configurations, branding, and management structure. Through careful consideration of operational needs and goals, the design succeeds in creating new learning environments and activities, thereby creating a holistic relationship between the center design, course learning, and brand identity. The design creates larger breakout areas along a branch structure that allow for students of different grades to mix during rest time. The playful configuration of the plan also translates into a variety of spaces for students to explore. Surfaces and furniture are reconfigurable to stress the importance of learning through activities and the environment, and to dissolve the separation of classroom and public areas.
